  • A Toast to Nick & Nora Charles: Named for the legendary cocktail-loving duo from The Thin Man films, this Gift Box Set of two classic Nick & Nora cocktail glasses channels the wit, elegance, and high life of 1930s New York. Their petite proportions are purpose-built for perfectly balanced, spirit-forward cocktails—Daiquiris, Manhattans, Corpse Reviver No. 2s—where flavor, temperature, and precision matter most.
  • Why the Smaller Size Matters: In an age of oversized glassware, these refined coupettes return to the original philosophy of cocktail service: quality over quantity. The modest capacity keeps drinks properly chilled, aromas focused, and pours deliberate. Long embraced by today’s leading mixologists, the Nick & Nora glass delivers superior balance, presentation, and control.
  • Timeless, Photogenic Design: Featuring a beautifully etched, softly curved bowl and a stable, weighted base, these glasses strike the perfect harmony between coupe and Martini forms. Their Art Deco-inspired silhouette elevates every pour, making them a favorite for home bars, cocktail enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates vintage design with modern function.
  • A Gift with a Story to Tell: Step into the glamorous world of New York speakeasies at the close of Prohibition. In The Thin Man (1932), Dashiell Hammett immortalized the city’s cocktail culture—where style, wit, and expertly mixed drinks reigned supreme. These glasses capture that moment in time, making them a thoughtful and distinctive gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, engagements, or housewarmings.
  • Designed for Everyday Elegance: Delicate in appearance yet durable in use, these coupettes are spill-resistant, space-saving, and dishwasher safe. Dimensions: 61⁄8" H | 31⁄8" Top Diameter | Capacity: 51⁄2 oz Ideal for Martinis, Manhattans, Sidecars, aperitifs, and liqueurs served “up.”
  • Meet the Brand: Since 1997, HISTORY COMPANY has specialized in extraordinary products inspired by history and authenticity—where Every Gift Holds a Story, and where you are sure to find the perfect item for keeping or giving.

The Couple Who Taught America How to Drink.

Nick and Nora Charles are the glamorous cocktail-swilling duo of Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man. Set during late December 1932 before the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, Hammett's book is filled with allusions to New York speakeasies. The opening sentence begins: "I was leaning against the bar in a speakeasy on Fifty-second Street, waiting for Nora to finish her Christmas shopping..." That speakeasy was the 21 Club at 21 West 52nd Street.

Inspired by New York speakeasies of the Prohibition era, these fanciful coupes are designed both for aesthetics and functionality. Each glass holds just under 6 ounces, smartly on the small side. True to classic Nick & Nora style and crafted with decoratively-etched curved bowl and extra thick glass to ensure that drinks both stay cold until the last drop. The Nick & Nora 1934 New York Cocktail Coupe Glass is excellent for dinner parties or any occasion where glamour is requested. Offered in a Gift Box for keeping or giving.
