Can it locate cable breaks and short circuits?
Yes. NF-8301 helps locate faults by tracing changes in signal strength along the cable. For multi-core cables, identify the faulty conductor or shorted pair before testing. Partially broken wires and incomplete short circuits may be harder to locate.
Can it trace metal pipes, plastic pipes, and cables inside metal conduits?
It traces metal pipes directly. Plastic pipes need an inserted metal wire or probe. Cables in metal conduits are best identified at accessible exits.
What is the difference between NCV detection and the built-in multimeter?
NCV provides a non-contact indication of nearby AC voltage; it does not display a voltage measurement or confirm that a circuit is safe to touch. The multimeter uses test leads to measure AC/DC voltage, resistance, continuity, current, and frequency.
How do I adjust the sensitivity for more precise tracing?
