How to choose a curtain rod
Determine size needed
Measure the size of window frame adding extra space for the brackets to be mounted, typically 4-5 inches outside the window frame on each side. For a fuller looking window, add more space outside the window frame.
The adjustable size range listed does not include the length of the decorative finials.
For tension rods, measure inside the window frame.
Diameter and finial style
Choose a larger diameter rod for wide windows and for heavier drapery panels such as blackout curtains.
Smaller diameter rods are best for lighter drapery panels or smaller windows.
There are a range of finial sizes and designs to fit your style. Choose from big, bold designs to more understated, simple designs.
Finish color
The finish color can complement your drapery panels, furniture and wall paint or use a contrasting finish color to make your windows stand out.
If using grommet panels, consider choosing a finish color that complements the color of the grommets.
